Ongoing Exhibits

In addition to our featured exhibitions, Lied Discovery Children’s Museum has over 100 permanent exhibits providing children and families with different learning experiences and hands-on interaction. Through this collection, the museum aims to provide a continually changing interactive experience for everyone by rotating and bringing in new exhibits as they become available.

Some of the museum’s exhibits include:

Growing Up With The Berenstain Bears
This immersive, bilingual exhibition was originally created by Lied Discovery Children’s Museum in cooperation with the authors of the beloved Berenstain Bears books, Stan & Jan Berenstain. This experience is like stepping into those stories, featuring familiar settings and activities. Growing Up With The Berenstain Bears is on display in the museum’s Donor Gallery.

It’s Your Choice
Sponsored by: Epicurean Charitable Foundation
Families, children and parents can experience this fun and interactive exhibition designed to highlight the importance of developing healthy eating habits for a healthy life. Located on the second floor of the museum, It’s Your Choice demonstrates messages about food that inspire parent/child interaction and conversation about healthy eating habits. Each area features interactive components to help teach kids in a fun, exciting way.

The Green Village
Sponsored by: Lied Foundation Trust, NV Energy, The Fireman’s Fund, The Ritter Charitable Trust, Richard Worthington, James Manning, Bank of America and Smith’s Food and Drug Stores

Experience everyday living lessons with an environmentally conscious theme in our mini-city! The Green Village includes Smith’s Grocery Store, the Car Care Center, the NV Energy exhibit, the State Capitol, US Airways Airport Terminal, the Interstate Plumbing & Air Conditioning exhibit, and the Bank of America.

Desert Discovery
Desert Discovery is an exciting exhibit for children ages five and under and their families. Especially designed to support the unique learning style and activity level of young children, Desert Discovery is a hands-on, interactive learning environment.

First Floor Exhibits
The first floor features exhibits about the arts and humanities and provides opportunities for imaginary and dramatic play, the use of a wide range of motor skills, and group problem-solving and cooperative activities. This floor is dedicated to children who are branching out and exploring their surrounding, yet not able to read. These exhibits are more intuitive by design, and so it isn’t necessary for children to be able to read for them to enjoy themselves and learn in these exciting exhibits.

There are many exhibits located on the first floor in which you and your children can experience. Make bubbles, hear a whisper thirty feet away, visit STUFFEE, dance in costume on our stage, create computer art, earn a paycheck for working in the Green Village and cash it at the Bank of America exhibit, and much more!

Second Floor Exhibits
The second floor is geared toward elementary aged children and features exhibits about science, communication, and technology and provides opportunities for exploration, observation, cooperation, and critical thinking. On this level many of the exhibits require a child to read and discover for themselves these scientific and technological concepts and the questions that arise from the experience.

You can witness science experiments in Einstein’s Corner, be a radio DJ, play a laser harp, experience wheelchair basketball, launch a tennis ball into the sky, trick your eyes, enter into a hurricane, learn about food and nutrition and so much more!
